Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter/Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role involves working on a range of projects including residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in construction-related trades and be capable of working independently or as part of a team to deliver exceptional results.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, plastering, and masking areas to ensure a smooth finish.
Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Carry out specialised decorating techniques such as wallpapering, textured finishes, and tiling as required.
Assist with carpentry tasks such as fitting skirting boards or window frames when necessary.
Work alongside other trades such as roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, and fabrication teams to complete projects efficiently.
Carry out basic plastering and tiling works, including surface preparation, repairs, and finishing to a high standard.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to meet project requirements.
Manage materials and tools effectively to minimise waste and ensure timely project completion.

Experience

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating is essential.
Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, masonry, welding, tiling, plastering, electrical systems, plumbing or fabrication is highly desirable.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in decorating and related trades.
Experience working on diverse projects including residential refurbishments, commercial fit-outs or industrial sites.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to produce precise finishes.
Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in painting/decorating or related trades are advantageous but not mandatory. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about craftsmanship and quality workmanship within the construction industry. Applicants should demonstrate versatility across multiple trades and a commitment to safety standards at all times.

Must hold a full UK driving licence.
