We’re looking for a talented and experienced Software Engineering Team Leader to join our growing R&D function at webexpenses.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the future of our SaaS platform, working at the heart of the full product development lifecycle. You’ll combine hands-on development with leadership responsibilities, driving technical excellence while mentoring and growing a high-performing engineering team.

Lead, manage and develop a team of software engineers, supporting their growth and performance

Write high-quality, maintainable code and conduct peer code reviews

Contribute to coding standards, architecture, and engineering best practices

Collaborate with leadership and peers to evolve our engineering culture and technical strategy

Play a hands-on role in the design and delivery of scalable SaaS solutions

Support the full software development lifecycle within an agile environment

Influence architectural decisions and platform evolution

Proven experience leading or mentoring software development teams

Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and delivery models
-
Solid development experience with Java (Java 8+) and Spring Boot (experience or desire to work with Java 21)

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

Strong SQL database knowledge (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

Experience developing native mobile applications (Swift and/or Java)

Commitment to clean, secure, and maintainable code with experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience producing technical design documentation

A curious mindset with a passion for learning and emerging technologies

Experience with React and/or JavaScript web applications

Background in FinTech or expense management solutions

Familiarity with Docker and containerisation

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. AWS CloudFormation)

Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems

Salary up to £60,000 plus benefits
