Base Location: Medway Power Station, Kent

Salary: SS06 £45,452 - £54,311 + shift allowance + skills shortage allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The role

We’re looking for an Operations Technician within our team at Medway Power Station, a world-class 735MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant, where you’ll play a key role in supporting safe, reliable and efficient generation.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;

Operating, monitoring, and controlling gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, pumps and water treatment plants via the DCIS control system.
Identifying and diagnosing operational issues, reporting defects via our electronic reporting system.
Conducting routine operational checks, plant testing, and inspections to maintain performance and reliability.
Taking part in continuous improvement and development projects to enhance plant efficiency and your own technical knowledge.
Ensuring all operations are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental best practices.

To be successful in this role, we would love you to have;

Operational experience in power generation or a transferable background in heavy industry.
A relevant engineering qualification, for example an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
A team-focused, detail-oriented mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
