An exciting opportunity has arisen in the role of Contracts Manager, within the Contracts Team which is part of the wider Contracts, Income & Costing function Team which sits within Corporate Finance at MFT
The Contracts Team is a well-established Department with excellent relationships both internally (i.e. Hospital finance/operational colleagues and close links with the Income and Contracting Information teams in particular) and externally (i.e. commissioners (ICB/NHS England/Local Authorities and external Providers).
The post holder will support the Head of Contracts in ensuring that MFT Clinical Group services and corporate departments understand the organisation’s contractual obligations as well as line manage the Contracts Team to ensure their day-day tasks are completed effectively and on time. They will support the Hospital services in ensuring that relevant service level agreement documentation is in place for Provider-Provider (Trust to Trust) services and Independent Sector provider Sub-contracts as well as supporting the Overseas Administrators to implement MFT’s “Overseas visitors who access NHS Care” policy in line with the Department of Health’s NHS Cost recovery for -overseas visitors guidance.
We are a small Team currently made up currently of the Head of Contracts who you will provide a deputising role to as well as delegated line management responsibility for the Senior Contracts Officer and a Contracts Officer who are tasked with a variety of responsibilities that support the Trust with regards to its commissioner contract requirements including individual funding requests (under the Effective use of resources – EUR/PLCV policies), Non-contracted activity invoicing to the Devolved Administrations plus invoicing of Laboratory and Imaging provider to provider (Trust to Trust) services.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

What is a DBS Check?
A DBS check is a background check that reveals any criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, or warnings. The level of check required depends on the role:
Standard DBS : Checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.
Enhanced DBS : Includes the above, plus any additional information held by local police that’s considered relevant to the role.
Enhanced with Barred Lists: Includes all of the above, plus checks against the children’s and/or adults’ barred lists.
Who Needs a DBS Check
Most roles involving direct patient contact, working with children or vulnerable adults, or access to sensitive information will require a DBS check. The job advert and recruitment team will let you know if this applies to your role.
The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.
