Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to support the smooth operation of our food service establishment. Previous experience in a hospitality setting is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the hospitality industry and develop valuable skills in a professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing and peeling vegetables or preparing ingredients for cooking.
Ensure all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment are cleaned and properly stored after use.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Support chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen is fully equipped for daily operations.
Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or hazards within the kitchen environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Familiarity with basic food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a restaurant or hotel will be beneficial.
Knowledge of health and safety standards within a kitchen setting is a plus but not mandatory. This role offers an excellent platform for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills and gain practical experience within the hospitality industry. We value reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude in all our team members.

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
