Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Engineer / Plant Fitter to join our team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in concrete pumping plant maintenance, equipment repair, and fabrication. The successful candidate will develop essential technical skills while supporting the smooth operation of our facilities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in engineering and plant maintenance within a dynamic industrial environment. Full training will be provided.

Duties

You will become proficient in hydraulics, electrics, diesel engines and all other aspects of construction plant
Read and interpret technical diagrams to facilitate equipment maintenance and repair
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery such as excavators, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
Perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely to support installation and repair activities
Assist with troubleshooting issues using technical manuals
Support the maintenance team in equipment servicing to minimise downtime
Maintain a clean, organised work environment adhering to safety standards

Requirements

Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively in a physically demanding environment
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards learning
Willingness to undertake on-the-job training in equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols
Prior experience in electrical or mechanical work is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
