Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
- Support the head pastry chef in planning menus and developing new pastry ideas
- Ensure all food preparation complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised workspace
- Measure ingredients accurately and execute baking techniques with precision
- Manage stock levels, including ordering supplies and ingredients as needed
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or baking within a professional kitchen setting
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques specific to pastries and desserts
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous restaurant or culinary experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Passion for baking and creating visually appealing desserts
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
