Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, organised, and eager to develop their skills within a dynamic kitchen environment. This role offers valuable experience in catering, meal preparation, and food safety standards, contributing to a professional and efficient kitchen operation.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and cooking under the supervision of head chefs or senior kitchen staff
Support with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and utensils
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations diligently
Help with stock rotation, inventory checks, and storing ingredients appropriately
Assist in serving meals to guests or customers as required
Ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times
Support the team during catering events or large-scale meal services

Experience

Previous experience in a catering, restaurant, or kitchen environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards is advantageous
Experience in meal preparation and food safety procedures will be considered a plus
A keen interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills is essential
Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are important qualities for success in this role

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
