Full job description

We are seeking a talented Cloud Engineer to join our growing technology team in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative cloud infrastructure projects, drive digital transformation initiatives, and help build scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure across public and hybrid cloud environments.
Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot cloud platforms to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to support cloud-native applications.
Implement cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and disaster recovery strategies.
Manage cloud networking, storage, backup, and monitoring solutions.
Support cloud migration projects and modernisation initiatives.
Document cloud architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Familiarity with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and DevOps practices.
Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and system administration.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Google Professional Cloud Engineer.
Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
