Trainee Fireplace Installer

Ready to learn a skilled trade with real career progression? We’re looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual to join our growing team as a Trainee Fireplace Installer, working with wood burners, fires, and fireplaces across our five showrooms.
You’ll start by supporting our experienced installers, learning the ropes, and gradually progressing towards qualifications such as HETAS and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career with full training and on-the-job mentoring.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting in the removal and installation of fireplaces, stoves, and fires
- Helping to prepare and load the van each morning
- Learning key safety and installation skills on-site
- Ensuring tools, equipment, and vehicles are kept tidy and ready
- Supporting the senior engineer on-site and progressing toward independent installs
Where You’ll Work From:
You will be based at our Chelmsford showroom from Monday to Wednesday, supporting projects across Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridge area. During this time, you will work alongside one of our senior Chelmsford based engineers, gaining valuable hands on experience and technical knowledge.
On Thursdays and Fridays, you will work with a variety of engineers across the business, providing exposure to different projects, systems, and working practices. This structured approach is designed to broaden your skill set, develop your technical expertise, and help you become a well rounded and versatile engineer.
It is your responsibility to ensure you get to work each day.
On the off chance your own transport is unavailable, a lift in would be possible. There is no reliable bus routes in the area.
We’re Looking For:
- 1+ year of building/labouring experience
- A full UK driving licence
- A strong team player with a can-do attitude
- Good timekeeping and communication skills
- Physically fit – comfortable lifting, working at height, and using tools
- Reliable, honest, and eager to learn
