KRUNCH & CANE – Kitchen Production Assistant (Part-Time / Casual)
Location: Chelmsford
Pay: £13.00–£14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Thursdays & Fridays initially
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 09:15 – 16:45
Additional shifts may become available during busy periods, markets and events.
About Us
Krunch & Cane is a Brazilian street food brand specialising in freshly made pastéis, churros and sugarcane juice. We trade at London markets and events, creating a vibrant street food experience inspired by Brazilian food culture and live food preparation.
We are looking for a reliable and hands-on kitchen production assistant to help with food preparation and production before weekend trading.
Main Responsibilities
Preparing and cooking pastel fillings
Preparing churro dough and pastel dough following recipes and production methods
Operating a dough cylinder/sheeter to roll pastel dough
Assembling pastéis consistently and efficiently for service
Preparing churros for trading and service
Cleaning and preparing sugarcane for juicing
General food prep for weekend markets and events
Cleaning cool boxes, kitchen equipment and prep areas
Supporting smooth kitchen operations and maintaining cleanliness standards
Requirements
Previous kitchen or food production experience
Comfortable working with dough, flour and food preparation processes
Experience using a dough sheeter/cylinder is highly desirable
Able to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency
Fast, organised and able to work under pressure
Reliable, punctual and detail-oriented
Knowledge of Brazilian or Portuguese food is a bonus but not essential
What We’re Looking For
This role would suit somebody with experience in bakeries, pastry kitchens, pizza dough production, street food or fresh food preparation. We are looking for somebody who enjoys hands-on kitchen work, follows instructions well and takes pride in consistency and cleanliness.
