ABOUT TACTICAL HAZMAT
Tactical Hazmat Ltd is a specialist hazardous materials training company serving the UK fire service, police, and wider emergency services community. Our core portfolio is hazmat training for fire service personnel - including operational crews and specialist hazmat teams - and drug and clandestine drug laboratory training for police drug units. We also deliver CBRN awareness and specialist training as part of our broader offering.
Our clients include fire and rescue services across the UK, specialist police units, and other emergency services and law enforcement bodies. We are a small, expert team with a strong reputation for operationally grounded, high-quality training delivery.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Hazmat Instructor to take ownership of our training delivery and course development programme. This is a permanent, full-time, field-based role.
You will be the primary face of Tactical Hazmat's training operation - designing and developing courses across our hazmat, drug/drug lab, and CBRN portfolio, delivering them to specialist audiences, and building the exercises and materials that underpin our quality and reputation. You will work directly with fire service training managers, police drug unit leads, and specialist operations teams.
This is not an entry-level or generalist position. We are replacing our lead trainer, who has been the backbone of our delivery operation. The person we are looking for has already done this work - for fire crews, for police drug units, at a high technical level. If your experience is primarily generic health and safety, generic CBRN without fire service or police drug training, or theoretical without operational delivery, this role is unlikely to be a fit.
