Full job description

Role: Night Porter

Location: The Queens Hotel Cheltenham

Reporting To: Reception Manager

Role Overview:

The Night Porter is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during night-time hours. This role involves providing excellent customer service to guests, managing late-night check ins and check-outs, and handling any issues that arise overnight.

Key accountabilities:

Welcome and assist guests arriving late at night, ensuring a warm and professional service.
Handle check-ins and check-outs during night hours.
Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service.
Prepare the breakfast as required and assist the night Supervisor/ Manager as needed.
Prepare set ups for tables and/or room service.
Follow cash handling procedures.
Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
Comply with local licensing laws.
Be environmentally aware.
General cleaning for public, toilets, back of house areas.
Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.

Desired Skills and Education:

Proven experience within the hospitality industry.
Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Motivated, results orientated and capable of working independently and as a part of the team.
