Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter/Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction and refurbishment sectors, contributing to the transformation of residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good eye for detail, and a professional attitude towards safety and workmanship.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primer as required
Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Ensure colour matching and finish consistency across different surfaces and materials
Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting activities
Follow technical specifications and client instructions to achieve desired results
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any repairs needed
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities
Collaborate with clients or project managers to ensure project specifications are met within deadlines

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites
Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members
Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks
Ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions accurately
Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if required
Reliable team player with a professional attitude towards safety standards
