Full job description

Purpose of the role

To support the upkeep and development of outdoor garden spaces at Bassets Court, creating a pleasant and welcoming environment for residents while also engaging them in gardening activities to promote wellbeing and social interaction.

Main Responsibilities

Maintain garden areas (watering plants, weeding, pruning, planting)
Support seasonal gardening tasks and improvements
Work with staff to plan simple gardening activities for residents
Encourage residents to take part in light gardening where appropriate
Ensure tools are used safely and stored correctly
Help keep outdoor areas clean and tidy

Skills, experience & attitude needed

Interest in gardening (experience helpful)
Friendly and approachable personality
Ability to engage positively with residents
Patience, reliability, and willingness to support others
Basic understanding of health & safety

Expected hours/time

As and when required though we will work around the availability of volunteers.
