Be the connective tissue between Product, Engineering and delivery — in a science-driven SaaS company going AI-native.
Chesham, Buckinghamshire (hybrid — 3 days in office)
Biopharm Services builds analytics software used by AstraZeneca, Roche, and Merck to predict manufacturing costs, performance, and sustainability impacts. Our 18-year proprietary bioprocess dataset underpins everything. We're moving to an AI-native SaaS platform and we need a Product Owner to make delivery actually work — owning the backlog, driving sprint execution and freeing our engineers to build.
What you'll own:
· The Azure DevOps backlog — Epics, Features and Requirements — as the single source of truth for delivery.
· Sprint readiness: confirming every item meets Definition of Ready before Planning and closing completed work against acceptance criteria.
· AI-assisted specification flow — using Claude, Copilot and DevOps MCP to draft, validate and decompose requirements faster.
· Progress visibility for leadership: sprint status, risks, upcoming decisions — concise and timely.
· The Product–Engineering interface: scope decisions, trade-offs and priority calls, resolved and fed back into the backlog.
What you'll bring:
· Strong SaaS or technical product ownership — backlog discipline, sprint craft, precise acceptance criteria.
· Confidence using AI tools to draft and quality-check requirements, not just as a tool to try.
· Hands-on Azure DevOps or equivalent delivery platform experience.
· Interest in regulated environments — pharma, medtech, GxP or GAMP familiarity a genuine plus.
In 18 months, success looks like: a clean, sprint-ready backlog, ceremonies that actually work, and the Director of Software no longer translating requirements — because you own that.
Small expert team. Real influence. AI-native delivery — not a pilot, the operating model.
Pay: £60,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
