Full job description

Job Summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at the Nelson Medical Practice, working as a GP Assistant predominantly working to support the clinical team with the processing of prescription requests and also the cancelling of some clinics due to unforeseen circumstances. This role is vital to ensuring patients receive timely care and a positive experience, contributing directly to patient wellbeing whilst you develop and build your skills in a dynamic and forward thinking primary care setting. This is a full time role working Monday - Friday 10.30am - 6.30pm

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

Rebooking of appointments when clinics have to be cancelled
To be the first point of contact for patients and within the Practice for prescription related queries, answering medication queries from patients, staff members, pharmacies and care homes.
Collate information re medication queries and forward onto the appropriate clinician
Promotion of EPS ( Electronic Prescribing Service)
Deal with PCSE registation queries as directed by the Operations Manager
Liaise with external Pharmacies to resolve patient queries
Check and maintain all areas under medicines management with the EMIS workflow manager
Check the enquiries email box to ensure that emails are distributed throughout the day to the relevant department / person to action
Registration admin - ie. change of address requests
Processing of documents in workflow manager in EMIS
Assist the Patient Care Naviagtor/ Admin Team as tasked by the Team Leaders
When dealing with prescriptions check which blood tests are outstanding, raise blood test forms and liaise with the patient to collect the form
When requesting prescriptions, check if patients are outstanding or due a medication review then send the patient a routine booking link
Any other adhoc tasks required to be carried out

Pay: £13.51 per hour
