About Us
Grafit is a leading print, events, and exhibition company, operating from a 22,000 sq ft facility in Skelmersdale. We design, build, and hire modular display systems for some of the UK’s most high-profile trade shows and live events. Our in-house team handles everything from concept through to build and delivery, and we’re proud of the craft and precision that goes into every project.
The Role
We’re looking for a talented and detail-driven CAD Designer to join our growing production team. Working closely with our 3D stand designers and project managers, you’ll translate creative concepts into precise, production-ready technical drawings for our modular display and exhibition stand systems.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of our production workflow. You’ll be the bridge between design intent and the workshop floor, ensuring every build drawing is accurate, clear, and ready for our fabrication team to work from.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for modular exhibition stands and display systems
- Work alongside 3D stand designers and project managers to interpret briefs and develop technical build drawings
- Translate concept visuals into dimensioned production drawings suitable for fabrication and assembly
- Maintain drawing files, revision histories, and project documentation to a high standard
- Liaise with the production and workshop team to ensure drawings meet practical build requirements
- Support multiple live projects simultaneously, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in 2D and 3D CAD design, ideally within exhibitions, events, shopfitting, joinery, or a related industry
- Proficiency in relevant CAD software (experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar is desirable)
- A strong eye for detail and an understanding of how technical drawings translate to physical builds
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team and communicate clearly with both designers and production staff
- Good time management skills and the ability to juggle priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- A practical mindset — you understand how things are made, not just how they look on screen
What We Offer
- £28,000 per year, plus depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
- A varied and creative role working on real events and live projects
- Friendly, hands-on team environment
- Opportunity to grow with a business that is expanding and evolving
Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Free parking
- On-site parking
