We are expanding our wellness offering and are looking for a passionate, professional, and friendly Self-Employed Dog Groomer to join our vibrant community. This is a fantastic opportunity to run your own business within our busy, modern facility, tapping directly into our existing, loyal base of local dog owners (especially those looking for a post-swim pamper!).
The Role
As a self-employed groomer at Wag n’ Waves, you will have the freedom and flexibility to manage your own schedule and build your own client base, while benefiting from the footfall and marketing support of our established brand.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Tailored Styling: Grooming, bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling dogs to breed standards or specific owner requests, ensuring every pup leaves looking and feeling their best.
Dog-First Care: Assessing each dog’s skin, coat, health, and behaviour to ensure a safe, positive, and stress-free grooming experience (particularly for nervous or reactive dogs)
Pawsitive Customer Service: Chatting with owners to understand their needs, offering expert aftercare advice, and building lasting relationships within the South Liverpool community.
Workspace Pride: Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within your grooming area and with your tools.
Smart Admin: Efficiently managing your own diary, appointments, and keeping accurate, digital records of your furry clients, including any special health or behavioral notes.
Hands-on Handling: Confidently handling and lifting dogs of various sizes safely onto grooming tables or into baths.
What We Are Looking For
Proven Experience and qualification. A solid background in professional dog grooming with a portfolio that shows off your skills.
Breed Knowledge: A deep understanding of different coat types, breed-specific cuts, and grooming requirements.

Great Communicator: A warm, friendly personality who can easily connect with our wonderful community of dog owners.

Physical Fitness: The stamina to be on your feet and comfortably lift heavier breeds when required.
