Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated MSK and General Podiatrist to join our private practice located in the heart of the city centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialised musculoskeletal foot and lower limb care within a professional and patient-centred environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing a diverse range of foot and lower limb conditions, contributing to improved patient mobility and quality of life. This position is paid and suitable for experienced practitioners looking to develop their expertise in a dynamic setting.
This post is for 2 full days per week, with an ability and willingness to work a minimum of 2 saturdays per month. We would also appreciate the scope to do extra days, should that be required. this post has the potential to develop into a full time role.
Skills
The post holder will:
1. Be a specialist practitioner with a high degree of autonomy across a variety of settings.
2. Prioritise and manage their own workload and when required offer supervision to assistants.
3. Be expected to triage, assess, diagnosis and implement individual treatment plans for a variety of conditions including, long term conditions, neurological conditions, vascular problems, wound management/sharp debridement, biomechanical assessment, manufacture of orthoses and nail surgery. The post holder will also be expected to discharge following a set criteria.
4. Be provided with peer support, and regular clinical supervision.
5. Deliver educational packages to the team.
6. Uphold and demonstrate the Gait Clinic integrity and values in their day-to-day work.
7. Be responsible for and maintain College of Podiatry membership and HCPC registration. Uphold the clinical and professional standards if those memberships
8. Work with individuals, families, carers, Primary Healthcare Teams and other agencies to undertake a comprehensive assessment based on specialist knowledge of patients / service users in order to inform a personalised care plan/intervention.
9. Communicate complex sensitive information effectively with all patient groups, service users and carers where there may be difficulties in accepting or understanding information.
10. Work collaboratively within the team and other stakeholders. This will include forms of verbal and written reports, referrals to other agencies/integrated care communities and partners.
11. Assess capacity, gain valid informed consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients / service users and carers who may have difficulties understanding complex information.
12. Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation in line with legal and clinic requirements and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports and letters.
13. Demonstrates professional sensitivity and empathy during the emotional demand of high exposure to distressing circumstances where there may be difficulties in accepting or understanding.

Disclosure and Barring Service:
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:
Standard Check: £21.50 + Administration cost of £6.50 = £28.00 Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.
Enhanced Check: £49.50 + administration cost of £6.50 = £56.00 Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.
