At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Document Controller to join our team.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Quality team. Our Quality department ensure that our products meet internal standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations through stringent quality assurance and control.
As a Document Controller, you will ensure the timely delivery of compliant quality assurance documentation and maintain the Quality Management System to support product certification, customer confidence and regulatory compliance.
What you’ll be doing

Compile and manage manufacturing quality documentation, including inspection records, certificates and customer data packs.

Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, traceable and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements.

Maintain document control, version management and configuration records throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Track documentation against project milestones to ensure timely customer deliverables.

Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Projects and Supply Chain teams to manage documentation requirements.

Support the resolution of document-related non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.

Manage document workflows within the Document Management System, ensuring only current approved documents are in use.

Handle sensitive and classified information in accordance with UK Government security requirements.
About You

Strong understanding of document and record control within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Ability to compile, verify, and maintain manufacturing data records, including inspection and test results.

Knowledge of quality management systems and controlled records requirements.

High attention to detail with the ability to identify missing, incorrect, or non-conforming data.

Ability to ensure traceability of records to product, batch, serial number, and configuration.

Experience using Document Management Systems and controlled filing structures.

Competence in handling sensitive customer and defence information securely and confidentially.

Strong organisational and time-management skills, able to manage multiple record sets simultaneously.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

The Working Pattern
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00.
