Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Floor Layer to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills in flooring installation and related trades. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals on various projects, contributing to the creation of durable and aesthetically pleasing flooring solutions. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and laying of different types of flooring materials, including LVT and carpets.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install flooring components accurately
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise placement and alignment of flooring products
- Support in surface preparation tasks such as levelling, underlay installation, and surface cleaning.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards
Requirements
- interest in construction and willing to learn the trade.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools is advantageous but not essential.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; reliable transport is beneficial
