Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Roofing Operative to join our highly respected local team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with roofing projects, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and contributing to the efficient completion of roofing installations and repairs. Duties
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various types of buildings.
- Read and interpret instructions and drawings to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labour as required to move materials and equipment into position.
- Support carpentry tasks related to roofing structures.
- Use other trade skills as necessary to complete projects.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks on site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Full clean driving license
- Confident when Working at height
Skills
- Knowledge of roofing standards, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Experience with carpentry is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing work.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of roofing standards, techniques and materials.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical fitness suitable for working at heights and performing manual labour over extended periods.
