Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a person with good attention to detail join our workshop team. This role involves receiving components bespoke aluminium greenhouses from third parties, inspecting for quality and organising for outgoing dispatch.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in using various hand and power tools. The job may require the occasional use of machinery for which training will be provided. The successful applicant will also have a passion for working with their hands and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

Quality assurance, checking jobs in and out of the workshop and inspecting for defects. Visually and dimensionally inspect raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Identify and report any non-conforming products or processes to supervisors and assist in resolving quality issues.
Prepare products for outwards shipment according to specifications. This may include applying seals and gaskets or cleaning surface finishes.
Match product codes, verify paint colour finishes, and ensure the correct labels, including batch codes, are applied to the products.
Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
Load and unload goods and load packaged boxes onto skids for shipping including heavy and repetitive lifting
Collect and record detailed measurement data and maintain quality records and logs
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the packaging and shipping areas.
Collaborate with team members to achieve team production goals.

Experience

Previous experience in a bespoke fabrication business or a related field is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot where variations to product specification has occurred..
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and their safe operation.
Experience in heavy lifting and physical tasks is essential.
Basic maths skills are required for accurate measurements and calculations.
