Full job description

The Shelley is a 32 bed residential care home which enjoys a truly enviable position only a few minutes walk from the centre of town and Worthing’s stunning seafront. The Shelley is warm, welcoming and homely providing residential care in an elegant and unique setting. We pride ourselves on providing the very best in care and service to our residents, and is made possible by our amazing staff.

The role of the activity coordinator has been compared to “the heartbeat of The Shelley”– a lively and engaging programme gives energy and laughter to the whole home. You must have a desire to create fun and enjoyment to the elderly in their daily lives and you must be a self starter who can develop new activities and events for the residents. You will enjoy spending time the elderly and be passionate to enrich their lives at The Shelley. The successful candidate be supported by management and our other activity co-ordinator to implement ideas you have and help lead on wider events during the summer and Christmas.

We have a close knit team who know the home and this contributes to The Shelley being an enjoyable and fun place to work and provide care. We support our team development and motivated by having team get-together's.

The hours are 10am - 5:30pm, 3 days a week, wk1: Mon/Tues/Wed, wk2: Mon/Tues/Sat.

We are looking for high quality candidate who match our values:

· Have good entertainment skills, adaptable, able to encourage & engage residents to participate

· Patient, resilient and empathetic

· Enjoying working as part of a team and create a fun and family orientated atmosphere

· Able to use initiative to organise and execute fun activities.

· Computer literate - able to design posters, presentation plans etc and use homes facebook

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £15.10 per hour
