Full job description

The Big Biscuit Company Ltd is a dynamic manufacturer specialising in high-quality pet treats and foods. Committed to traditional baking techniques, we produce biscuits for leading pet brands as well as our own award-winning range, Betty Miller.

Based in Bordon, Hampshire, we combine craftsmanship, quality and innovation to create products that dogs love and owners trust. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for dedicated Bakery Production Operatives to join our team and help us maintain the high standards that our customers expect.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly, hardworking team within a growing business that is passionate about producing quality pet products.

Travel Requirements - IMPORTANT

Please note that our shift patterns fall outside of standard public transport operating hours. Due to our location and the start and finish times of these roles, applicants will be required to have access to their own reliable vehicle to travel to and from our site in Bordon.

We are hiring for our pm Shift (2pm-10pm)

The Role Responsibilites

Pack products accurately and efficiently to meet quality and production standards.
Carry out product and packaging checks to ensure correct labels, dates, batch codes and packaging materials are used.
Inspect finished products for quality, reporting any defects or non-conformances.
Complete production records and quality documentation accurately.
Operate packing machinery safely and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
Work closely with colleagues during product changeovers to prevent cross-contamination and minimise downtime.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic packing area in line with food safety and health & safety standards.
Ensure finished products are packed, stacked and prepared correctly for storage or dispatch.
Follow all company procedures, quality standards and safe working practices at all times.

Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and follow procedures.
Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures is desirable but not essential.
Basic mechanical aptitude would be advantageous.
Previous food production, manufacturing, warehouse, bakery or pet food industry experience is beneficial but not required, as full training will be provided.

Please note that these roles involve standing for extended periods, manual handling, and working within a busy manufacturing environment.
