Dance Teacher – Multi-Discipline (IDTA / ISTD / RAD Qualified)

About the Role
Gem Movement is looking for an enthusiastic, committed and versatile Dance Teacher to join our growing team from September 2026.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about inspiring children and young people through dance and who can confidently teach multiple dance disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing a new dance programme within a boutique studio environment, taking ownership of classes from the start of the academic year.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, committed to regular teaching, and excited to grow alongside our academy for the long term.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured dance classes across multiple dance styles.
- Teach children and young people of varying ages and abilities.
- Deliver classes in line with recognised syllabi where appropriate (IDTA, ISTD and/or RAD).
- Prepare students for examinations, performances and showcases where applicable.
- Create a fun, inclusive, safe and inspiring learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and communicate professionally with parents.
- Work collaboratively with the wider coaching team to help develop and expand the dance programme.
- Represent Gem Movement professionally and positively at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised dance teaching qualification with IDTA, ISTD or RAD.
- Ability to confidently teach more than one dance discipline (for example Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Commercial, Contemporary, Acro Dance, Musical Theatre or Street Dance).
- Experience teaching children and young people.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Reliable, organised and professional.
- A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality classes on a consistent basis.
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the continued growth of the academy.
Desirable
- Experience preparing students for examinations, performances or competitions.
- First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications.
- Experience working within a dance school, club or educational setting.
- Experience teaching preschool or adult classes.
