Contracts Manager – Groundworks & Civils

Based at Ston Easton, Somerset | Full-Time | Competitive Salary

Pennys Group – a trusted name in civil engineering, demolition, and groundworks across the South West – is expanding. Due to continued commercial success and a strong pipeline of secured projects, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated Groundworks and Civils team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a progressive and growing business where your contribution will make a real impact across projects ranging from £50,000 to £3.5 million in value.

About the Role

As Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of the operational aspects of multiple projects and play a vital role in supporting our continued growth. You will report to the Construction Manager and be part of a supportive and driven team at our Ston Easton head office.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the operational elements of projects from early engagement to project completion.
Have a strong understanding of groundworks and civils work.
Understanding of the works commercially and report back to the project commercial team.
Interpret and work from technical drawings.
Maintain strong working relationships with valued clients.
Assist senior management with project and labour planning.
Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding operational matters.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in the Groundworks or Civils sector is preferred, but not essential.
Commercial awareness and understanding of contract terms.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
A proactive, positive attitude with a collaborative approach.
Confident in working within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
