Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets company standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong interest in fabrication and finishing processes. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining efficient workflow throughout the coating process.

Duties

Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking prior to coating application
Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, following safety procedures
Apply powder coatings evenly onto components using hand tools and power tools
Monitor curing times and temperatures to ensure optimal finish quality
Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies and perform touch-ups as necessary
Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
Assist with loading and unloading materials within the warehouse or fabrication area
Support other team members with assembly or fabrication tasks when required

Qualifications

Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques are highly desirable
Experience in fabrication, construction painting, or warehouse operations is advantageous
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during coating processes
Prior experience with assembly or working with metal components is beneficial
Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety standards at all times
Strong organisational skills with an emphasis on quality control and attention to detail
Previous experience using welding equipment or in similar manufacturing roles is a plus
