Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Floor Layer to join our central team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role requires a strong understanding of different flooring systems and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately.
- Install various types of flooring, including vinyl, laminate, carpet, and hardwood.
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or underlayments.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure precise installation according to specifications.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to ensure seamless project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools related to flooring installation.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints for accurate installations.
- Strong building skills with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship.
- Previous experience as a carpenter is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
- Previous experience working on pub refurbs desirable.
