We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House and Station Staff to join our dedicated volunteer team at Llangollen & Corwen Railway. As the face of our railway, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service at our stations, shop, and booking office, ensuring every visitor’s experience is welcoming, informative, and memorable. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about heritage railways, customer engagement, and creating a positive atmosphere for our diverse visitors. No prior experience is necessary as full training and support will be provided for all successful applicants.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors warmly and professionally, offering a friendly first impression of Llangollen Railway.
- Provide accurate information about train times, fares, and local attractions to enhance the visitor experience.
- Assist customers with ticket purchases, retail sales, and general enquiries in the shop and booking office.
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and inviting environment across all front-of-house areas, including stations and retail spaces.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Support the smooth operation of station facilities, ensuring safety and accessibility for all visitors.
- Collaborate with fellow volunteers and staff to deliver seamless service during peak periods and special events.
- Uphold the railway’s values of heritage preservation, customer care, and community engagement.
Qualifications
- No formal qualifications or prior experience required—full training will be provided.
- A friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour with excellent communication skills.
- A genuine passion for customer service and an interest in heritage railways or local history is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and event days, as part of a team.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
