Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping, laying, and finishing stonework to create durable and aesthetically pleasing structures. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and shape stones using hand tools, power tools, and specialised masonry equipment
- Lay bricks, stones, or blocks according to specified patterns and standards
- Ensure the stability and durability of structures by applying appropriate techniques in bricklaying and masonry work
- Assist with the installation of roofing, carpentry, or welding tasks as required on site
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, and welders to complete projects on time
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently throughout all phases of work
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, and levels
- Experience with bricklaying, masonry techniques, and the handling of various building materials
- Competence in operating power tools safely and effectively in a construction environment
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, roofing, and welding is advantageous for multi-disciplinary tasks
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on precision and craftsmanship
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow technical drawings and specifications
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour over extended periods in diverse weather conditions
