Ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately and made available to worthy Church members by:
- Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.
Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.

Assists temple management to ensure that temple patrons are properly served and that all sacred ordinances are accurately accounted for and properly recorded. Ensures that patrons coming to the temple receive friendly, courteous service and the ordinances they accomplish are recorded in accordance with proper temple procedures. Works in a temple with a high volume of living ordinances take place each year.
Act as the primary point of contact for complex and non-routine enquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally, including those received by telephone.
Verify records and investigate discrepancies as required to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Monitor temple recording functions and oversee the performance of the computerized recording system, identifying and addressing operational and software-related issues.
Team Leadership and Supervision
Provide direct supervision, support, recruitment, training, scheduling, and ongoing development for volunteers, volunteer supervisors, and clerical employees across multiple functions within a high-volume temple environment, including:
Family Names System – volunteers and/or employees.
Living and Immediate Family Records – volunteers and/or employees.
Records Verification – volunteers and/or employees.
Appointment Desk – volunteers and/or employees.
Clerical Office – volunteers and/or employees.
Review and proof audit reports, ordinance lists, cards, and records associated with the Family Names System and Temple Originated Records.
Verify and proof Family Group Sheets and other temple records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Supervise the processing of lost and/or stolen recommend data.
Oversee the completion of daily audits and corrections within the recording system.
Ensure effective clerical, recording, and scheduling support is provided throughout the temple.
Maintain appropriate training and development of staff and volunteers to support operational excellence.
Review administrative documentation and, where required, payroll timesheets for administrative staff.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the efficient operation of the temple office.
Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned to support the needs of the temple and its patrons.
This role is responsible for overseeing temple recording operations and leading a large team of volunteers and clerical staff within a high-volume temple environment. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of temple records, supervise auditing and verification processes, resolve complex operational issues, and provide effective leadership to support the smooth and efficient delivery of temple services.
Two years college and three years experience with temple computer system, Family History, or related fields, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to supervise. Ability to work well with people. Pleasing personality. Willingness and capability to develop new ideas and recommendations for improvement. Flexibility in work schedule. Ability to deal properly with confidential and sensitive information. Ability to motivate and train people to be accurate in their work. Acquire the necessary knowledge and experience to answer questions and correct problems pertaining to the computerized recording system.
