About us

The Special Educational Needs Disability Information Advice Support Service is an independent service providing impartial, confidential and free advice and support to children and young people with SEND 0-25 years, their parents and carers and professionals working in Warrington. The services provides information on what support and options are available to them, giving them the tools to make informed decisions about their child’s/young person’s education and to express their views.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Special Educational Needs Disability Information Advice Support Service (SENDIASS) in Warrington, as a SENDIASS case worker, joining a small team. In this role you will support the SENDIASS Manager and offer impartial information, advice and guidance to parents, carers, children and young people up to the age of 25 with matters relating to Education, Health and Social care. The office base is Sandy Lane Children's Centre.

You will ensure that parents/carers and young people have access to quality advice and support so they feel empowered to advocate for their children or themselves in all matters related to SEND, health and social care.

You will support the team by responding to enquiries to the service within set timeframes, ensuring that records are maintained in line with policies and procedures.

What's needed?

We are looking for a practitioner with experience of supporting children and families with SEND, excellent communication skills and passionate about making a difference and empowering families. You will also carry a caseload and provide advice with initial concerns or identification of potential SEN and or/disabilities through School meetings, SEND surgeries and home visits. We are looking for someone with the skills and knowledge to take a lead role in the development and upkeep of the service’s website, communications and data collection. The successful applicant will have experience in SEN and disability. Training will be provided, including IPSEA accredited legal training
