About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to support a gentleman in his own home during day and/or waking night shifts. You’ll help enhance his quality of life and promote his independence, while ensuring his comfort, safety, and dignity at all times.

You’ll be part of a close-knit care team who share the same commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred care.

Responsibilities

Support the client with mobility both in bed and around his home
Provide personal care and assistance as outlined in his care plan
Communicate effectively and sensitively with the client and his wife
Record and report any changes in condition or wellbeing promptly
Maintain accurate, up-to-date care records in line with data protection standards
Promote emotional wellbeing and companionship
Follow all health, safety, and infection control procedures
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Requirements

Previous experience in domiciliary or healthcare settings is preferred but not essential – full training is provided
Excellent communication skills in English
Ability to follow and update care plans accurately
IT skills beneficial for logging care notes
A caring, compassionate, and professional attitude
Right to work in the UK
Must provide suitable references
Enhanced DBS check required prior to employment. People on the update service will be required to attach their original DBS certificate. If not on the update service then the company will carry the check out and its cost will be deducted from the first wage.
