The role
We’re looking to bring on board a new full-stack developer to join our small, but incredible, engineering team at Class Manager - a rapidly scaling SaaS platform which provides a leading class management solution for youth-focused sports clubs worldwide.
This role is specifically for a developer who wants to work on a platform that makes a difference, working with a modern, high-performance stack.
We have a strong desire to embed AI across our entire product and development workflows to enable us to move even quicker. However, we know that skilled developers remain a crucial part of this equation. We aren't replacing developers; we are empowering them. We want to attract people who heavily embrace this AI culture, leveraging cutting-edge tools to accelerate their workflows, eliminate drudgery, and focus their deep engineering expertise on solving complex architectural problems.
Our Technical Stack
We are fully committed to modern tooling. You will be working with:
- Back-end APIs: Laravel 13 / PHP 8.5 / MySQL 8.4
- Front-end: React
- Infrastructure: Serverless AWS (Bref)
- Development Workflow: Modern AI coding assistants and pipeline integrations which safely supercharge our output.
What you will be doing
You will be working directly on the core Class Manager platform. This isn't a maintenance role; we have an aggressive roadmap of new features and architectural improvements, so you’ll be hands-on, making a real difference to our customers worldwide.
You’ll be collaborating in a fast-paced environment where you’ll get a genuine say in helping to guide the product, building complex, scalable features from the database up to the React front-end. By utilising AI where it can assist, you will accelerate your development cycle, allowing you to spend more time architecting brilliant solutions and less time writing boilerplate code.
What we are looking for
We need someone with a product mindset. You should care about code quality, but also understand why we are building a feature and how it serves the user.
You understand the Laravel ecosystem deeply (Queues, Service Providers, Eloquent and how to get the most from them), know how to write efficient queries and manage indexes for scale and are confident in building modern, reactive interfaces using React.
Crucially, you embrace AI as a force multiplier for your abilities. You are excited to use AI tools to move fast, but you possess the fundamental engineering excellence required to validate, secure, and structure the code effectively. AI is the tool, but your expertise is the engine.
Experience with AWS/Serverless (Bref) is a bonus, but not essential.

Our interview process
We know that tech interviews are often broken. We don’t believe in unpaid take-home assignments or high-pressure live coding sessions. We are interested in how you think, not how well you can memorise syntax under a microscope. Our process is simple and quick:
- A casual discussion about your background, our AI-driven approach, and our culture with our Managing Director, a fellow developer, so you can get straight to the technical reality of the role.
- We will present a number of real-world scenarios we’ve encountered, and we’ll talk through how you’d tackle them, the trade-offs you’d consider, how you might leverage AI to assist you, and how you may have solved similar challenges in the past.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
