Full job description

Job summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Press Toolmaker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of press tools, ensuring high-quality production standards and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture, assemble, and maintain press tools, jigs, and fixtures
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure tooling efficiency
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Use manual and CNC machinery such as milling machines, lathes, and grinders
Ensure all tooling meets quality and safety standards
Work closely with production teams to support continuous improvement
Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Press Toolmaker or similar role
Strong knowledge of press tooling, stamping, and forming processes
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Skilled in machining, fitting, and assembly
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

Apprentice trained / recognised engineering qualification
Experience with CNC programming or operation
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
