Tomlinson Farms is a mixed organic family farm, looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Relief Milker & Herdsperson.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the hands-on management of our 120-head organic dairy herd milked through 5/5 Heringbone Westfalia parlour. In addition to assisting with twice-daily milking, the role includes covering key responsibilities such as:
- Animal husbandry
- Calf rearing
- General daily yard duties
You’ll be providing relief cover for our main Herdsman—typically one day per week, plus 35 days of holiday cover throughout the year.
Key Requirements:
- Strong experience in animal husbandry and livestock care
- High standards of milking and parlour hygiene
- Good attention to detail – especially important in organic herd management
- Familiarity with organic farming practices (preferred)
Additional Details:
- Pay is dependent on experience
- Training will be provided so the candidate is familiar with procedures before taking responsibility for relief work.
