We’re looking for a Senior Editorial Executive to join us and make a real impact as part of the team behind the UK’s highest circulation magazine. You’ll help shape and deliver National Trust Magazine, working in close partnership with another Senior Editorial Executive to ensure each issue meets high editorial standards, is delivered on time and within budget, and reflects the National Trust’s strategy, People and Nature Thriving. You’ll commission and develop engaging stories across print and digital, while supporting the wider Editorial team and contributing to the magazine’s ongoing evolution.
It’s an exciting time to join as we expand into new digital platforms and explore fresh ways to engage and grow our audience.
This is a fixed term contract working Monday to Wednesday which is due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 15 months.
What it's like to work here:You’ll be part of the Editorial team, responsible for the production and delivery of National Trust Magazine. The team sits within Commissioning Marketing, part of the wider Communications and Fundraising directorate.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office in line with the rest of the Editorial team. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing:You’ll support the end-to-end production of each issue, helping to keep schedules on track and ensuring content meets high editorial and brand standards across print and digital. You’ll coordinate contributors such as writers and photographers, agree clear briefs and fees, and build positive working relationships.
You’ll also help maintain efficient workflows, identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll support colleagues day to day, share knowledge and help maintain an inclusive and supportive working environment. You’ll work with others to ensure content is engaging, relevant and aligned with audience needs, using insight to support continued development across channels.
