Full job description

H G Gladwell & Sons Ltd was established in 1912 and now manufactures and distributes a range of pet food and pet related goods. These finished products are in bags or boxes, which weigh up to approximately 25Kg.

We are looking for a part time member of the team to work in the Internet part of the warehouse operation.

Based at: Copdock Mill, Copdock, Ipswich, IP8 3LA.

Position reports into: Warehouse Manager and Operations Director.

Hours: Monday to Tuesday 08.00am -17.00pm with 30 min unpaid break and two 15 min paid breaks and Saturday 08.00 am - 13.00pm.

Job Purpose: To work in our warehouse assisting with goods-in and goods-out operations. This role involves a high degree of manual handling of boxes/bags weighing up to 25Kg.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process orders for receipt or delivery.
Ensure all established procedures are adhered to.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate and liaise verbally with co-workers, supervisors and managers to optimise department performance.
Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant Health and Safety procedures.

Duties include but are not exclusive:

Processing paperwork accurately.
Order picking for main warehouse and mezzanine floor areas.
Goods received for the mezzanine floor area.
Pre-start checks on counterbalance forklift and order picker trucks.
Ability to cover all aspects of yard duties, including loading and unloading of vehicles.
Maintenance of hygiene in the department.
Communicating with other departments as necessary.

Essential Skills:

Must be numerate and literate as will be working from written instructions.
Excellent attention to detail is required as mistakes are costly to rectify.
The ability to work under your own initiative is important.
Own Transport essential as Public transport is limited.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 22.0 per week

Work Location: In person
