Full job description

About the role: We're looking for a capable and motivated individual to join our team at Clacton Motorist Discount. As a Sales Assistant, you'll be the first point of contact for customers looking for the right parts for their vehicle — identifying what they need, locating it across our systems and supplier network, and getting the order placed efficiently.

What you'll be doing: Using catalogue software to identify correct parts from vehicle registration numbers. Searching across supplier websites to source and order parts. Handling cash and processing customer transactions. Providing friendly, knowledgeable service to trade and retail customers. Occasionally assisting with local parts deliveries (driving licence holders preferred).

What we're looking for: No prior experience in motor parts is required — we'll teach you the systems. What matters most is the right mindset. Good logical thinking — parts can go by many names depending on make and model, so the ability to problem-solve and work methodically is essential. Comfortable with computers and picking up new software quickly. Good attention to detail — accuracy matters when ordering parts. Friendly and reliable with a good work ethic.

Desirable (but not essential): A full UK driving licence — there may be opportunities to assist with local deliveries. Previous experience in retail, trade counter, or motor factors. A general interest in cars or motorcycles.
