HGV Driver – Road Sweeper & Tanker Operator

Depot: Mayglothling Waste Ltd – Kington Depot
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday

Pay: Competitive rates of pay (depending on experience)

About the Role

Mayglothling Waste Ltd is looking for a professional and dependable HGV Driver – Road Sweeper & Tanker Operator to join our team based at our Kington Depot.

This is a varied and rewarding role, operating both HGV road sweeping vehicles and tanker vehicles across a range of customer sites throughout the UK. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental and industrial services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

No two days are the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate HGV road sweepers and tanker vehicles.
Carry out road sweeping operations on highways, construction sites, industrial estates and customer premises.
Operate tanker equipment safely and efficiently in line with company procedures.
Complete daily vehicle walk-round inspections and defect reporting.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and customer site rules.
Complete all job paperwork and electronic records accurately.
Maintain vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
Work closely with the operations team to deliver an efficient and reliable service.
Provide excellent customer service and represent Mayglothling Waste Ltd professionally at all times.

Essential Requirements

Full UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence (Class 1/C+E advantageous).
Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
Maximum of 3 penalty points (no DR, DD or IN convictions).
Positive attitude with a strong commitment to safety.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Flexible and reliable with a willingness to work across different operations.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Previous road sweeper experience.
Tanker, vacuum tanker or jetting experience.
Experience working within the waste, environmental or construction industries.
Plant operator experience (advantageous but not essential).
