Senior Support Worker (16–18-Year-Old Young People)

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team supporting young people aged 16–18 years . This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people develop independence, confidence, and life skills while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead by example, support the day-to-day running of the service during weekends, and provide guidance to support staff while maintaining high standards of support and safeguarding.

Duties

Provide high-quality support, and guidance to young people aged 16–18.
Promote independence, life skills, education, employment, and positive outcomes.
Act as a role model and build positive, professional relationships with young people.
Lead shifts and support staff members during weekend operations.
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Complete accurate records, reports, and incident documentation.
Support with care planning, risk assessments, and key-working responsibilities.
Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Liaise effectively with social workers, families, education providers, and external agencies.
Participate in activities that support young people's personal development and wellbeing.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working with young people in residential care, supported accommodation, or a similar setting.
Experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
Flexible, reliable, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
Full UK driving licence.

Pay: £14.00 per hour
