Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Children's SEN Team Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong commitment to providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. As a SEN Team Leader, you will be responsible for facilitating play activities that promote the development and well-being of children in your care, in a 1:1 or a group based setting
Duties
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times, could be on a 1:1 or as a group
- Implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, social skills, and physical development.
- Manage behaviour by setting clear boundaries and expectations while promoting positive interactions among children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
- Maintain an organised and clean play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
- Observe children's progress and report any concerns regarding their development or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Required to commit to most weekends and school holidays
- Provide personal care as required
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 or Equivalent or above qualification in HSC/Childcare desirable.
- Strong risk assessing skills
- Safeguarding Qualifications
- Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire children in their play activities.
- A drive for creating an inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of all children.
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education with SEN is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanor in a busy environment.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Chorley, Lancashire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Childcare: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- DBS on the update service (preferred)
