Join our work to support our communities to thrive
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, positivity, and enthusiasm to every ‘young gym’ session, helping to create a fun and motivating environment for young people to enjoy being active.
You’ll be confident leading and supporting engaging activities, including group exercise workshops and boxing-for-fitness sessions, encouraging participation and building confidence in all ability levels. You should be able to inspire young members, keep sessions dynamic, and make fitness enjoyable.
A key part of the role is maintaining a safe and supportive space, so you’ll need to always be highly aware of safeguarding responsibilities. You’ll be proactive, observant, and confident in identifying and responding appropriately to any situations that may arise, always putting the well-being of young people first.
We’re looking for someone who can positively influence behaviour, promote respect, and create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and supported.
About you
You’re a positive, approachable person who naturally puts young people at ease. Friendly and energetic, you enjoy being around teenagers and understand how to engage with them in a way that is both fun and respectful.
You have a calm and confident presence, able to set clear boundaries while still building good rapport. You’re fair, patient, and consistent, and you don’t shy away from stepping in when needed to maintain a safe and well-run environment.
You’re someone who leads by example, encouraging good habits, promoting confidence, and creating a space where young members feel comfortable and included. You take pride in being reliable and responsible, and others trust you to do the right thing even when things get busy.
Above all, you care about helping young people enjoy fitness in a safe, supportive, and positive setting, bringing enthusiasm and a good attitude to every session.

About the Role
As a Young Gym Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and inclusive gym sessions for young people aged 11–15. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive environment where participants feel motivated, supported, and confident to take part in physical activity.
You will take the lead in planning, organising, and delivering each session, using your initiative to design activities that are varied, engaging, and appropriate for the age group. This includes developing and running group exercise workshops and boxing-for-fitness sessions, adapting your approach to suit different abilities and encouraging all young members to get involved.
Your role will involve building strong relationships with participants, promoting confidence, and helping them develop healthy, active habits. By bringing energy and enthusiasm to each session, you’ll help create an environment where young people enjoy attending and feel part of the gym community.
A central part of the role is maintaining a safe and supportive space. You will be highly aware of safeguarding responsibilities at all times, remaining vigilant and confident in identifying and responding appropriately to any concerns that may arise, always prioritising the well-being of young people.
You will also play an important role in shaping behaviour and culture within the sessions, promoting respect, inclusivity, and positive attitudes.
