Qualification: Level 3 Dog Grooming (minimum)
Canine Groom School is excited to offer a rare opportunity to join our nationally recognised training team. We are looking for a passionate, skilled and motivated Dog Grooming Tutor who is committed to raising standards within the industry and inspiring the next generation of groomers.
This role is ideal for someone who loves both grooming and education, and who thrives in a supportive, professional teaching environment. You will be working alongside our experienced tutors, delivering high‑quality practical and theory training to learners at different stages of their apprenticeship journey. The successful candidate will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Dog Grooming, be confident in communicating with a wide range of learners, and be enthusiastic about continually developing their own skills. Duties
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive grooming training sessions to students of varying skill levels
- Develop customised lesson plans that cater to individual learning needs
- Demonstrate grooming techniques, including bathing, trimming, styling, and handling different breeds
- Assess student progress through practical assessments and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe and organised training environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into training programmes
- Support students with their theoretical knowledge, including anatomy, hygiene, and grooming tools management
- Organise workshops or specialised sessions to enhance student learning experience
- Utilise IT tools for lesson planning, record keeping, and communication with students
Experience
- Proven experience in dog grooming, ideally with recognised qualifications or certifications
- Previous teaching or training experience is highly desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple classes and administrative tasks efficiently
- Good IT skills for using digital resources and maintaining student records
- Effective interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire students in a professional manner
