Founded in 2012, the company is dedicated to delivering high-quality vaping products through comprehensive in-house manufacturing and distribution, emphasizing customer satisfaction and product excellence.

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll across a fast-paced multi-entity Group business. This role is responsible for ensuring payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time, whilst improving controls, processes, and overall payroll standards across the business. Working closely with HR, Finance, and our external payroll provider, you will take full ownership of the payroll cycle from data collection through to final sign-off. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is detail-focused, confident challenging inaccuracies, and comfortable working in an environment where pace is high and standards matter.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process across the Group
Act as the main contact for the external payroll provider
Review and validate payroll outputs before final approval
Ensure payroll remains compliant with UK legislation including PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory payments, and RTI submissions
Complete payroll reconciliations and identify discrepancies or risks
Investigate payroll issues and implement long-term fixes rather than short-term workarounds
Improve payroll controls, processes, and system functionality
Support payroll reporting, audits, and year-end processes
Work closely with Finance on reconciliations, reporting, and payroll-related queries
Line manage and support the Payroll Co-Ordinator

What We're Looking for?

Proven experience running payroll within a multi-entity or Group environment
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience working with external payroll providers
Strong reconciliation and payroll controls experience
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Confident communicator who is comfortable challenging inaccuracies where needed
Able to work at pace whilst maintaining accuracy
CIPP qualification or working towards this would be advantageous
