As Operations Planner/Scheduler you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth planning of five engineer work schedules for the working week. You must be a proactive person who is able to be a go getter and not be led by others.
Our team of 34 people operate nationwide dealing with Local Exhaust Ventilation equipment and its statutory requirements. A function of our business is to carry out statutory Local Exhaust Ventilation tests to improve Health and Safety equipment in workplaces (occupational hygiene) and ensure workers are not exposed to hazardous fumes and dusts which can affect their health (Asthma, COPD, Cancer). We operate in a diverse range of applications including Nuclear sites, Airports, Manufacturing, Education and Small businesses.
This function of the business supports nine office staff (including Office Manager, Administrators and Sales) and five on the road engineers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Organising orders we receive into geographic areas for efficient scheduling (currently working to a four/five week lead time). You will need to have a very good geographic knowledge of the U.K.
- Liaising with clients to provide excellent customer service and communication lines
- Organising jobs into specific routes to be taken by engineers - it is essential to have UK Geographic knowledge of locations and use Google Maps to plan work efficiently
- Ensuring adequate time on site to complete the job is built into the schedule
- Computing the schedules into paper form for use by engineers
- Booking in and confirming jobs with clients via telephone the week before our visit
- Communicating and assisting five engineers where necessary with the smooth running of schedules
- Organizing weekly engineer vehicle checks, booking in servicing and MOT's where required
- Key point of contact for clients and engineers
- Assisting Office staff where required with compiling of reports after engineers have completed jobs.
Reporting directly to the Office Manager and thereon Company Directors
If you are reliable, can work independently, enthusiastic, creative, persuasive, have good time management skills and a sociable team player, with previous scheduling experience this may be the job for you.
You will need to be confident, driven, self- motivated, a quick worker, have geographic knowledge of the UK and have good attention to detail, in addition to this you must be keen to apply your current skills, whilst taking the opportunity to learn, develop and achieve satisfaction of being part of a successful team.
UK geographic knowledge is essential.
Monday - Friday 9am to 5PM.
Salary - £28,000
Attendance allowance of £50 per month paid annually in November when you have not had an unauthorized absence. So a total of £600 is paid in November.
Annual Holiday Entitlement is 20 days per annum (pro rata) plus statutory holidays, which will increase by an extra day's holiday for each continuous year of service following the first anniversary of employment and there after each January, up to a maximum of 5 additional day's per annum.
