About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the leadership and day-to-day management of our care home in Scleddau, Fishguard.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and who is looking to further develop their leadership skills within a supportive care environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the home operates effectively, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations, while promoting the wellbeing of residents and supporting the development of staff.

The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager and take delegated responsibility for the management and operation of the home as required
Purpose of the Position
- Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of the home's management.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of care, safety, and service delivery.
- Take temporary responsibility for the full operation of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Promote a positive culture that places residents' wellbeing, dignity, and independence at the centre of care.
- Support the effective leadership, supervision, and development of staff.
- Providing assistance with the Management of the day-to-day running of the home.
- To participate in regular Meetings in accordance with RISCA Regulations
- Ensuring high standards of care are being delivered safely in line with legislation.
- Ensure all staff are working in accordance with the Codes of Professional Practice for Social Care Wales.
- Participate in weekly Duty Manager Meetings to communicate the needs and movements of residents and staff in the home.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a senior role within a residential care setting
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strong IT Skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Good understanding of person-centred care practices
- Willingness to undertake all required in-house training.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Must hold or be working towards a Level 5 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification required for registration).
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections and quality assurance processes
- Experience supervising and developing staff teams

Pay: £44,165.42 per year
