Lead Youngstock Rearer – Taunton

Opportunity for a Calf and Youngstock Rearer to join our progressive dairy farm near Taunton.

Expected start: beginning of September (due to our current youngstock rearers travelling plans)

About the Farm

We milk 550 Holsteins and 150 Jerseys through a modern 40:40 Boumatic parlour. Our high-yield housed herd produces milk for Cathedral City Cheese (Saputo). Facilities which have been purpose-built within the last 8 years.

The Role Includes:

Overseeing calf care from birth through to weaning
Effective management of colostrum
Ensuring high standards of health, welfare, and hygiene
Following protocol, administering medicines and vaccinations
Supporting calving and dry cow management
Collaborating closely with farm owners and senior staff to ensure a high level of calf performance

A full UK driving licence essential; telehandler license & tractor driving experience preferred but not essential.

About You

Positive, proactive, and detail-focused
Excellent communicator and team player, who inspires and motivates those around you
Some experience with calves or youngstock preferred, but training is available
Passionate about animal welfare and continuous improvement
